Claudette Opoku-Achampong CPHI(C)

Bio

I am an Environmental Health Professional with over seven years' experience in the healthcare sector. My current role as a Public Health Inspector, with Alberta Health Services, involves delivery Environmental Public Health Programs, which most recently includes working to prevent the spread of  COVID-19. Prior to this role, I worked on several projects to produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients in the Biopharmaceutical Industry. I am a member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI), which unites, represents and certifies Environmental Public Health Professionals in Canada, and engages in environmental health advocacy (Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors, 2020).

From a very tender age, I observed my parents serve in various capacities within our community. I therefore developed a love for community service. With a rich cultural background and a natural vigor to serve communities, I continue to dedicate my time to various voluntary activities.
I embody leadership through service, by actively participating in the planning and execution of the projects I undertake. This and other qualities led to my election as current President of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Fort McMurray (GCAFM). In this role I work with my Executive Team and Stakeholders to promote the wellbeing of community members, and to promote multiculturalism within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB).

My goal is to apply my rich experiences and project management skills to improve and support the delivery of effective Healthcare Programs. The purpose of this site is to enhance my social media presence by sharing interesting information relevant to healthcare, and to connect with other healthcare professionals to explore opportunities for collaboration in the future.
